A red light from the water supply as well

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that if diesel is not available to operate the generators at the water pumps during the period when the dust is cut off, the water supply to many areas could be disrupted.

Its Deputy General Manager for the West Central Region, A.J. Mr. K. Kapuruge stated that the continuous water supply to many areas including Piliyandala, Pannipitiya, Maharagama, Hokandara and Battaramulla could be disrupted.

Meanwhile, the daily water demand has also increased due to the prevailing dry weather.

Meanwhile, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board also called on the public to use water sparingly.
