Protesters do not give up despite heavy rains

The protest launched by the youth against the government led by the President at Galle Face Green yesterday (09) will continue for the second day today (10) despite heavy rains.

The people who had gathered at the Galle Face Green at around 9 am yesterday (9) started a continuous protest chanting slogans and displaying placards.

By yesterday (09) afternoon, religious leaders, civil society organizations and the general public from various parts of the country had gathered for the protest.

The protesters, who called themselves the “Non-Partisan People’s Struggle”, later gathered at the entrance to the Presidential Secretariat to protest.

The Muslim community who joined the protest performed their religious rites on the road yesterday afternoon.

The group that lit up last night (09) is also a specialty of Galle Face Green.

Protesters say the protest will continue until the president resigns.

The protesters, who called themselves the “Non-Partisan People’s Struggle”, later gathered at the entrance to the Presidential Secretariat to protest.

It is also noteworthy that the protesters voluntarily removed the garbage that had accumulated on the road.
