Public servants who criticize the government are at fault

Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Home Affairs Chandana Tennakoon has issued a letter urging the public not to criticize the government and government policies using social media networks.

He also issued a letter to Development Officer MR Jayasinghe under the heading letter of the Kandy District Secretariat, warning him not to use social media to defame the public service and not to criticize government policies.

He further stated that if such action is taken in future, it will be in accordance with Chapter XLVII of the Establishments Code.
