Ranil allows the summoner to stay for 90 days in the interim

President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Minister of Defense has approved the detention of Inter-University Student Council convener Wasantha Mudalige, Hashantha Gunathilake and Reverend Galwala Siridhamma Thero for 90 days under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.

On the 18th, 19 people including Wasantha Mudalige were arrested by the police during a protest held by the Inter-University Student Union in Colombo, and the rest of the 15 people except Wasantha Mudalige and 03 were released on bail after being produced in court.

The court ordered that one person be remanded until the 26th.

The three including Wasantha Mudalige were first detained under 72-hour detention orders, subject to the approval of the Defense Minister, they will be detained for 90 days and investigated.
