Landslide warnings for 5 districts

Landslide warnings have been issued to several areas in 5 districts of the island due to the prevailing bad weather conditions.

The National Building Research Organization said that the warning notices have been issued for a period of 24 hours for several regional secretariats in the districts of Ratnapura, Kalutara, Galle, Matara and Hambantota.

Second level landslide warning notices have been issued to Pitabedda Divisional Secretariat Division of Matara District and first level landslide warning notices to Akurassa, Athuraliya, Pasgoda, Mulatiyana, Kotapola Divisional Secretariat Divisions.

It is stated that first level landslide warning notices have been issued to Nagoda, Neluwa, Baddegama, Yakkalamulla, Elpitiya Regional Secretariat Divisions of Galle District and Valasmulla Regional Secretariat Division of Hambantota District.

Apart from that, landslide warning notices have also been issued to Valallavita, Palindanuvara in Kalutara District and Kiriella and Aheliyagoda Divisions in Ratnapura District, the National Building Research Organization stated.
