Teledrama ban for Afghan women

The Taliban has banned women in Afghanistan from appearing in television teledramas.

The Taliban have also demanded that journalists and presenters cover their heads while appearing on television.

This is stated in a series of eight points of reference directed to Afghan television channels.

Filming of any film that violates the Sharia law will not be permitted under this Act.

Films promoting foreign cultures as well as the broadcasting of comedy programs that are derogatory to Islam are strictly prohibited.
